1948 Chevy Chevrolet 3600/3100
Up for sale, we have a very original '48 Chevy 3600 Pickup. This one hasn't been altered in any way, and still wears it's hard earned green/sun bake patina. If you are looking for a patina type build, this one certainly fits the bill.
This one, like most we get, came from a farm in Kansas. It was just across the Nebraska border, and spent its whole life there. The old truck is really very solid, with only a few spots of rust in the floor, none anywhere else that I could see. We were told that it was parked due to the starter going out, many years ago. When we got it home and cleaned it up a bit, we tried the starter - and found it is the ring-gear on the flywheel, not the starter. Not being one to give up so easy, we tacked the ring gear back in place in a couple of spots, and tried again - and she cranked right over. We added some gas, cleaned the points, and she fired right up! The engine sounds great, but upon a couple more starts - the ring gear gave up again - so - it is going to need anew ring gear for the flywheel - they are readily available for around $30, otherwise this will be a pull start model! Also - the fuel tank started to leak after a few hours of having gas in it - so it will also need a tank, but at least you know the engine will start and run. Although I haven't driven it - the transmission shifts in and out of all the gears fine.
All in all this is just a great old project, it was a farm truck its whole life, so it has its share of bumps and bruises, but it is complete and solid, and has a good Kansas title. The seat back and bottom will come with it, they will obviously need re-upholstered! I have sold quite a few old trucks here, and really enjoy doing it, not a car lot out for a fast buck - please check my feedback - 100%. And please call or text with any questions - [hidden information] - Cort, and I am fine with the pickup sitting a while, so you can arrange transport, I will also load it for free of charge. Thanks and good luck!
