Studebaker Daytona
A survivor,
rare sleeper
This beautiful Daytona
has been part of a private collection.
She was parked as part of a collection since 1998. This beautiful Daytona comes with a V-8 (283)
engine and a 4 speed transmission. It
has power brakes and power steering, and it runs very strong.
Since the car was sitting for several decades,
we sent it out to a mechanic. They
cleaned the gas tank, changed the oil and filter, rebuilt the carburetor,
installed a brand new brake master cylinder, changed all the spark plugs,
wires, and caps, and installed a new
battery and new tires. And this
beautiful girl came to life and runs fantastic.
The car has wire
wheels, good glass, good chrome, good interior, and zero rust.
The Daytona comes
with a clear Texas title. And
if you are interested to see how it runs, I can text you a video.
Studebaker Daytona now
a rare 'sleeper'
The 1964
Studebaker Daytona conceded little to any
fast-moving midsize car on the
street, and their low production
numbers make them scarce
collector vehicles today.
Brooks Stevens effected more than a facelift when he created the new Studebaker
Daytona hardtop in 1964. The crisp, squared-off roof that Stevens grafted onto
the now 4-year-old Lark body looked every bit as up-to-date as Chevy’s equally
angular Impala. Of course, the Daytona was narrower than a full-size Chevy
(Studebaker’s basic body stampings dated back to 1953 and most American cars
had grown substantially wider over the intervening decade), but its size fit
nicely with the new intermediates.
What really
made the Daytona stand out were the performance options available.
All the
