NO I'm not the original owner and I've only owned this car for a short period.
This 1965 Mustang Fastback is being RE-LISTED as the winning bidder of the NO RESERVE auction that I listed and SOLD this car on isn't responding and is not completingthe Purchase that he legally bid to buy this car with. So here it is being listed for sale at the winning bidders bid amount of $18,100. I've included the make an offer option in this listing so if you have a price that you will COMPLETE a purchase at please let me know. Thank you for looking at my 65 Fastback and please consider buying it for your EASY next or first restoration project.
This car will need both rear quarter panels repaired or replaced, both trunk drop offs replaced, outer wheel well repair, the right rear floor under the back seat needs a rust repair, the hood should be replaced and and new valances and bumpers. The headliner is torn above drivers head. The tires are weather rotted etc. Car needs complete restoration but is 100 percent complete and is NUMBERS MATCHING DRIVELINE!
This numbers matching C code auto with power steering and power drum brakes 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback only has 41,000 actual miles! It was taken apart in 1989 for restoration and sat ever since! I got the car in pieces and most of the small parts were wrapped in newspaper that was dated 1989! Now this being a Michigan car you would normally be concerned about rust BUT being heavily undercoated when new and then being driven only 41,000 miles before being taken apart in 1989 for restoration saved it! The condition of the interior as well as a date tag of Dec 12 1964 being on the bottom side of the carpet proves it the original carpet and it will all justify the low miles of 41,000.
The interior is all complete and is in very good shape. All of the fiberglass interior panels are perfect! No cracks or speaker holes anywhere!
I can only include 24 pictures in this posting so I can't photo everything. I have been building Mustangs for over 40 years and I know what is good and what is junk. This is a very solid car. I assembled that car and replaced the missing front sheet metal with a new left fender and used right fender and hood. The original engine and transmission were put back in the car and I got it running and moving again. The engine sounds great and it is the original engine and carb and transmission to this car! The engine and carb tag are in place! This car has power steering and power drum brakes which are nice options to have on an old Mustang Fastback. This car is running on a jug of gas under the hood and it will run and move onto a transport but only has the emergency brake to stop with! The under hood wire harness is in the trunk. I just hot wire it under the hood to start it. It will need all the wiring hooked up but I figured the buyer will probably take the car apart again to restore it anyhow so I didn't hook up the wiring or anything in the interior. Its all complete though! I've put a new fuel line that goes from the tank to the front inner fender apron inside the car that is included. If an overseas buyer buys this car I can order that quarter panel skins and any other parts that they would need to restore this car and put them inside the car before its picked up for transport. It wouldn't need too many parts, quarter panel skins or patch panels and bumpers etc. The buyer OF COURSE WILL NEED TO PAY FOR THE PARTS UPFRONT THOUGH.
Like I said, THIS IS A VERY BUILDABLE CAR and is not being covered up with spray can primer to make it look pretty!
I have a clean and clear Michigan title for this car and it matches the fender apron and door tag vin. Car also has the original Michigan 1965 License plate on the rear!
Car is located in NW Las Vegas , Nevada. zip 89129. It is the buyers responsibilityto make all shipping arrangements. The car runs and will drive and steers but has NO BRAKES! The emergency brake does work to stop the car so it can be carefully driven onto a trailer or transport truck.
