We are extremely proud to present this incredible 1965 GTO convertible fully documented and restored about 25 years ago and still in outstanding condition. The original owner was a NASA engineer who had ridden in a friends 1965 LeMans convertible. He liked the ride so much, and the plain, non cluttered look of it, that he immediately put in an order for a 1965 Pontiac LeMans with the GTO package because he wanted the 4bbl carb and the 389 Trophy V-8 engine engine like in his previously owned Grand Prix.

In a 2004 issue of The Legend, GTO Association of America, there is a great article written by the original owner Lee Bogema, about the history of the car. We have that article, and it is extremely informative.

The owner had the engine and transmission rebuilt in 2008, which is in his log, and the actual mileage on the car since that time, is what the odometer shows, 3714.
Since the car was ordered late in 1965 it has a few parts that were common to the 1966 models. One of those items is the distributor, which is numbered [hidden information] instead of number [hidden information].
