1968 Mercedes Benz 250SL Pagoda
This vehicle is available with an automatic gearbox and comes with both hard and soft tops.
This car is for the person wanting to own a Mercedes SL Pagoda without the price tag that comes with a nut & bolt concourse restored specimen.
It has just undergone a $24k rust removal and improvement restoration. Works included but were not limited to the complete rust removal on rear left and right wheel arches and rail interface sections, complete rust removal in boot floor, complete rust removal on left hand rear sill section. The following sections were repainted following works: wheel arches, undercarriage floor pans, bonnet interior and exterior, boot lid interior and exterior, doors, hard top, soft top cover underside and alloys.
Interior updates included re-upholstering of both bucket seats, new carpet (interior and boot), re-surfacing of dash and pillar sections and roof liner cleaning. All hard top and soft top cover seals, door seals and the boot seal were replaced.
The engine had undergone some updates which included the installation of a new radiator, replacement of hoses, and installation of a new firewall mat. A major service was also conducted on the car which included the replacement of all oils and filters, brake system flush and re-conditioning of two front brake calipers. Major maintenance was also performed on both window regulators and door locking mechanisms.
The car presents very well and the paint is in good condition - but not perfect. The chrome on the vehicle is in reasonable condition but has a few minor imperfections. The soft top is in very good condition but has two very small scuffing marks on the sections where it enters the soft top enclosure. These however are very minor and can only be observed from very close by.
The car still has its original Becker radio (which is connected to a modern blue-tooth enabled system in the boot).
The vehicle is currently registered under NSW Historic Plates which will not be included in the sale. If the asking price is met, the car will be sold with a NSW Roadworthy Certificate (Blue Slip).
Please note that I will not respond “low-ball” offers. The car has a very reasonable (low) reserve price and is also advertised elsewhere. If the sale price is obtained elsewhere, the auction will be ended without notice.
The vehicle is located in Windsor, NSW.
