Hello For sale is my ( PROJECT ) 1989 Porsche 911 3.2L Carrera convertible ( Last year of G model chassis before 964 chassis) . PLEASE NOTE- THIS IS A ROLLING chassis PROJECT.
THIS PROJECT WILL NEED TO BE PICKED UP AT MY FAMILYS PROPERTY either by buyer, shipping company or possibly another arrangement to be discussed and agreed on before bidding. A BILL OF SALE IS SIGNED AND READY TO TRANSFER TO NEW OWNER. Project is located north of Montreal, Quebec, Canada in Mont Tremblant, Quebec. I have had this project for many years now but no longer live where the car is. The engine and transmission have unfortunately gone missing while in storage. I was thinking about possibly installing a modern reliable 505HP LS engine.
I do not have the driver and passenger seats, also do not have the carpets. I was going to source a new carpet kit.
Some details of the project. Car was mostly stripped to metal and professionally repainted in porsche Platinum silver. All interior sound proofing was removed and you can see in pictures the floor pans and rear seat buckets are all in very solid condition. Front suspension pan is rust free and solid.

I have tried to describe this project as best as I can.
The repaint / body work alone was very expensive, it was painted in factory porsche platinum silver. I am hoping to find a new owner for this project so they can carry the torch and complete it. Again, please ask any questions before bidding. This car is titled/ registered in my name and I will sign the title over to the winning bidder. I will try to help as best as I can with shipping. My reserve is a fraction of what I have invested into this project. A huge chunk of the hard work is done. Heres your chance to own a awesome “light weight “ 911 project. Lots of possibilities with this project. International bidders please contact me before bidding.
Shipping is responsibility of buyer. I will help as best as I can. I will update if I find more parts. Thank you
On Jan-18-20 at 15:29:37 PST, seller added the following information:Hello, I received a few messages concerning some details on the car and my reserve.
To clarify, this is a solid project, the body is all STEEL. Factory porsche 993 turbo STEEL quarter panels, fenders ect... If you have any specific questions please ask.
When you look from underneath the rear quarter panels everything looks quite nice. Everything is properly seam sealed, undercoated and painted body colour ect.. A large effort was made to make it look nice, its not new but its also not a million dollar restoration either, its "nice" ( as far as undercarriages go). You should be able to see in some pictures that were posted to give a idea if you zoom in.
My reserve is a fraction of what I have invested in this project, it is less than what I have invested into the Speedline wheels and paint work. - Speedline 3 piece wheels I purchased used for $1500, wheels were checked for trueness, 2 needed to be trued at a cost of $150, wheels were refurbished at a cost of over $1000- I forget exactly but it included the following ( nickel plating all hard ware, completely dismantling wheels, powder coating wheels and having them reassembled / sealed ect..) TOTAL $2650 invested in wheels . Theres a lot of work that goes into 3 piece wheels !-Undercarriage. This included cleaning full undercarriage and painting underside and engine bay at a cost of around $2500. -Paint work. ( porsche silver ) Work included painting both sides of front fenders, body of car and all body panels at a cost of over $4500 My reserve is much less than the total of the above.
Again, this is a genuine 1989 porsche 911 Carrera convertible ( last year of G model chassis) torsion bar suspension chassis ( not 964 coil spring suspension chassis ) im sure one day this will be collectable as there was only a small number of 1989's that were built. Lots of options for someone looking for a affordable project considering the prices these are currently valued at wether you continue with the 993 body or return to the original body.
The rear wheels use a H&R 10mm or 20mm ( I don't remember exactly) spacer to get the perfect stance. Rear wheels are wide! the pictures don't give a real life perspective. You can lay most of your hand flat on the lip of the rear wheels. They look pretty awesome in real life. Wheels have no curb damage or scrapes ect... Still basically fresh powder coating from a few years ago.
Concerning the masking tape on the body. That was just put on years ago when they were fitting the panels as to not scratch/damage them. All that will have to be removed by new owner and panels need final fitting. All panels, doors bumpers ect... were fitted before painting so everything will bolt up and fit properly but again that needs to be done.
I have instrument gauges but they need to be fitted/ installed.
I will update with more parts and info.
Thanks for the interest. On Jan-18-20 at 15:36:23 PST, seller added the following information:Also, rear wheel hubs have longer wheel studs installed because of the H&R 10mm or 20mm spacer used. Steering rack is loosely installed just to make it mobile but brand new 930 steering tie rods were installed. These will of course need to be adjusted.
