I have up for auction my 1995 Chevy Tahoe 4 door. This is a fully loaded 95 Tahoe 4 door with only 69,787 original miles, 4WD, 350 TBI motor, automatic trans, and a factory 3:73 rear with limited slip. It's fully loaded with PS, PB, P-windows and locks, A/C, cruise, tilt, tow package, and trans cooler. I still have the original window sticker listing all the options which will be included in the sale.
A little history on the truck: when I got out of the Marines in 1995, I purchased a brand new Chevy Silverado extended cab 4WD. I drove that truck every day for 23 years and put 198,000 miles on it. 2 years ago, my wife said to me, "you.ve been driving that truck for over 20 years, you should go buy yourself a new truck". Well before I could even stop at a dealership to look at anything, she hit a deer with her car which totaled it. So instead of buying myself a new truck, we bought her a new car. I gave my old truck to my kids to drive to school and I bought this Tahoe. I grabbed the Tahoe about a year and a half ago and have been using it as my daily driver ever since. Last week my father called me. He's retired and has a 2013 Jeep Wrangler that he really doesn't drive anymore. It only has 26,000 original miles and he asked if I was interested in purchasing it. He'll be 80 in January and my mom is 77 and they are having issues climbing in and out of it. It's too good of a deal to turn down so the Tahoe is now up for sale.
So here's the description of the Tahoe: It's a 95 with the 350 TBI motor. It starts and runs fantastic. The truck was owned by a retired older gentleman who rarely drove it over the past 10-15 years so the mileage stayed extremely low. I bought it a year and a half ago with only 62,000 original miles and today it has 69,787 miles. Since it's my daily driver, those miles will go up. I'd say that by the end of next week the miles will be up about 100-150 more since I live relatively close to work. So it should sell with just a hair over 70,000 original miles. Since I have this same type of truck as a pick up that my teenagers currently use, I can tell you that with regular maintenance you can go well over 200,000 miles in these trucks. My 95 pick up currently has 203,000 miles on it and it runs like a champ.
I've done a ton of regular maintenance to this truck. For starters I replaced all the original brake and fuel lines because they are well known to rust out. They're now all new. I replaced both rear leaf springs and the factory rear bumper. The rear springs had a common factory issue of cracking. I thought that the left spring was cracked so rather than run into an issue, I put brand new springs on. They're about a year old. The rear bumper had begun to rust and it looked terrible so I put a new one on. I drained and refilled the trans fluid and filter and swapped to a Corvette servo. The Corvette servo firms up the shifts on these trucks extending the life of the transmission.
Last November in order to pass Pennsylvania state safety inspection the truck needed new front brakes, rotors, and tires so I installed new brakes, rotors, and put on 4 brand new BF Goodrich Long Trail TA tires in the factory size. The brakes and tires were installed at about 63,000 miles so now at just about 70,000 miles they only have about 7000 miles since new. I've also been anal about regular maintenance. I change the oil every 3000 miles with Valvoline oil and an AC Delco filter. The air and fuel filters were changed at the end of the summer. I'm a big classic car guy and I take care of all my vehicles. Basically the drivetrain of this truck is bullet proof. The motor runs strong, the trans shifts strong, the truck runs straight as an arrow. The 4WD works fantastic. With the factory limited slip 3:73 rear this truck will pull strong, and go through the snow like it's not even there. It tows fantastic. Every year in September I tow my 67 Chevelle SS from my home in PA to Wildwood NJ (about 110 miles) for the classic car show and the Tahoe pulls my Chevelle without any issues.
The body on the truck is in what I'd call better than average condition. These trucks are well known for rocker rusting issues. This truck doesn't have any rust on the rockers. I've included pics of the rockers and you can see that they are solid. The floors and frame are rust free. The body has some minor dings and a couple of small dents but it's a 25 year old truck. It's not perfect. The paint is original and is faded and has it's share of scratches but again it's not rusted or beat up, it's just 25 years old. The driver's door has a small dent in the bottom that doesn't affect the performance. The hood has a minor dent/curve to it when the previous owner pulled down too hard, but again it doesn't affect how the hood closes. As far as I'm concerned it's to be expected with a 25 year old truck. The interior is leather and isn't in bad shape. The rear seat and passenger seat are in great condition as is the dash. All the gauges and the factory stereo work fine. The driver's seat has a tear in the leather which is extremely common on these models. The carpet is original and is dirty in spots but it's not torn or ripped. It's just 25 years old. I never bothered to do anything about it because it just doesn't bother me that much. It's a truck. I work in the construction industry and it's not worth having a perfect interior in my driver.
All of the power options work. The power windows and doors work flawlessly. Cruise control works as new as does the wipers and delay options. The heat blows super warm and the AC was charged in May. The AC might have a minor leak. It needs a charge every Spring that holds throughout the summer. Right now in November it blows cool but not ice cold. I'll charge it up again for the new owner. The state inspection and emissions test was just done last Tuesday and the truck is inspected through 11-21 in Pennsylvania.
Overall this truck is super solid, super dependable, and has super low miles for the year. I've owned it for a year and a half and it has never left me down. It starts flawlessly every day, runs strong, and everything works. If my dad hadn't offered me a good deal on his Jeep, I'd drive this truck until I retire in about 5-6 years.
The truck is located at my home in Doylestown PA zip code 18901. It has a clean and clear title in my name. I have set a fair reserve because I know it's 25 years old and isn't in perfect condition. It goes however have a great drivetrain with VERY low miles for the year. It's extremely dependable and should provide years of reliable service. I have added 24 pics allowed by eBay but I'm more than willing to email or text any additional pics or even a video upon request. Please feel free to ask any additional questions.
The truck and the title will not be released until paid in full and the buyer is 100% responsible for transportation.
