Description

Up for sale is a 1998 Ford Mustang Cobra! This is a rare opportunity to own an absolutely stunning example. Where do I begin?!

PERFORMANCE
If you are looking for one of these, you know that this is a hand-built, DOHC 32V 4.6L V8 engine rated for 300HP, signed by the actual builders (see photo)! There were few cars back then that generated that kind of factory Horsepower! This one breathes even better with a True-flow Cold Air Intake and a K&N Fuel Injection Performance Kit Gen II! Exhaust has been replaced with a Magnaflow High Flow Catalytic x-pipe and a MagnaPac Cat back exhaust system. Car had no problem passing WA state inspection. Exhaust sounds ferocious! Not obnoxious at all, cruising sounds great but just give it a little gas - bam! It's also had the Rear gearing replaced with a Ford Racing 4.10 ring and pinion, a Steeda short throw Tri-ax Shifter and an SCT Tuner which allows for custom tuning! All of this professional installed and works perfectly! Crisp, short throw shifts, clutch is perfect, etc. I was told the brakes were replaced recently. They work very well. HISTORYI am the 3rd Owner. I have had the car less than a year. The 2nd Owner had the car in the family for 17 years! They took meticulous care of it. They gave me all of their receipts, Repair Manuals, Car cover, etc. They purchased the car from a local Ford dealership when the car had 21000 miles on it. They put 20K on it then I have put about 1K on it. There were 5,174 of these (coupes) built in 1998. This is # 3594. EXTERIORThe finish on this car is absolutely amazing! The Owners kept it constantly covered. I would call it 9.5 out of 10. It's got 2 tiny dings (no missing paint) on the body that I can find (you really have to look for them) and a small scratch on the hood that was touched up - looks fine. This color, Chrome Yellow, is the rarest of all the colors for that year! It appeared halfway through the model year and was a one year only color during this gen Cobra. Wheels are original, in fantastic condition. Fog lights and headlights are in excellent condition.INTERIORThis car is incredibly clean! Can't tell if anyone has even been in the back seat before! Beautiful, shiny black leather - seats are incredibly comfortable! EVERYTHING WORKS! Door panels shine like new, has all billet aluminum knobs, billet shifter, etc. All gauges work fine, A/C blows ice cold. Power driver's seat works great.  Glass, inside and out is perfect, headliner is fine. Trunk is like new and unused. To sum it up, you'll be hard pressed to find a Cobra in this condition, with this mileage anywhere. This car is special. There is a slow draw on the battery when the car is not being driven. I have replaced the battery. Cars back in the 90's sometimes had alarm systems that would cause this. I have not looked into the cause - I keep the car on a trickle charger - and would anyway since we rarely drive it. That allows for the car to start right up. I know of no other repairs that the car needs. Hate to part with the car - it was a gift to my wife. We don't use it enough and we are moving. I doubt we'll find another car like this again.TERMSWe are financing the car so the note will have to be paid by the winning bidder to release the title. This is not a big deal - I've done this a couple of times. We do not take personal checks. Sorry but, if you have zero feedback, please do not bid. No joyrides. Serious buyers only. Please don't waste my time and I won't waste yours. I will not reveal a buy it now price so please don't ask. If you have questions, send a question and I will respond promptly. I reserve the right to sell the car locally. Thanks for looking!
