Low 130,897 km on the clock and drives like new. This MG F Convertible
is great value at $8,635, you couldn't do it for the price.
FCCKIT true coil-over suspension by Mike Satur, England, (check the
site) replaced Suplex coil in a can suspension kit which only lasted 13
months and was horrible. Originally the MG F had Hydra-gas suspension
system which wears out and the Nitrogen filled spheres are no longer
available. The FCCKIT while more expensive is much more reliable,
robust, and more tune-able not to mention more widely accepted than the
other two rather flawed systems. Making this MG F's suspension superior
to that of the TF, having adjustment on spring tension, dampening and
camber front and rear.
"RACE" full aluminum radiator made in England, 30 % more efficient
through capacity, materials and design better suits the hot Australian
conditions. Engine watchdog with alarm/emergency light just in case
fluid is released unexpectedly. TF expansion tank with low water alarm
as a further safeguard. Stainless steel radiator tubes under body and on
engine are better suited to the job and don't rust out the way the
steel one's do. New radiator hoses throughout, once again to prevent
unexpected fluid loss. PRT (Pressure Release Thermostat) system and
housing with dummy thermostat blends the hot and cold sides of the
radiator fluid traffic so that a cold charge cannot close the thermostat
when engine block is boiling hot, causing a head gasket failure.
Allowing for the long run of tubing between the radiator at the front of
the car and the engine in the middle. 99% of mid-engine cars use a PRT
system, it was adopted with the subsequent TF model as standard.
MG Specialist reconditioned cylinder head, with multi plate gasket and
reinforced bolt rail, replacement by steel dowels, of the standard
plastic dowels and single thickness head gasket.
Applied hindsight engineering doesn't mean you don't have to check your
oil and water regularly, or keep an eye on oil pressure and temperature
gauges while your driving, but, these modern upgrades make the MG F more
reliable and fun to drive.
