For your consideration, here is a Ford Police Interceptor Utility which
is essentially a factory-modified Explorer. It has approximately 131k
miles on the odometer.
Features worthy of note:
All Wheel Drive
Flex Fuel E85 compatible
6-speed automatic transmission
Auxiliary equipment switches (a police wiring option)-- 4 switched circuits with steering wheel controls.
Ford SYNC option (Bluetooth, auxiliary audio input, etc.)
Blind spot obstacle sensors (side, front, and rear)
Remote entry & remote start
AM/FM/CD media center
6-way power driver's seat
Air Conditioning and the other typical options.
This particular Police Interceptor Utility is in good condition with a clean title and ready to hit the road.
Powertrain: The 3.7l engine was replaced with a new engine under warranty at
56k miles (paperwork included). The transmission shifts smoothly and the
CV joints all appear to be sound. There are no mechanical issues worth
of note, it drives well.
The body is in good condition overall, no significant dents. The paint
has scratches, especially where a duty belt might drag against it when getting in and out of the driver's seat, and ghosting from service decals and minor scratches & dings. There are flaws in the
paint on the liftgate. There are also a few well-sealed holes in the
roof for antennas and lightbar wiring.
The interior is in good condition overall, with the things worthy
of note being that the driver's door armrest is split on the edge, where
all of these seem to develop this particular problem, the headliner has
some small holes in where equipment had been mounted.
It does not have a center console, just a mounting plate between the seats for a console or rail.
The tires all have approximately 7/32 of remaining tread depth.
I strongly encourage inspecting it prior to purchase-- bidding on this lot is not a purchase option, it's a contract to purchase. I've described this to the best of my ability, so the only cancellation of the purchase is if I missed something significant. If you have any questions, please ask!
