HQ Holden 1971 Race Car 350 Chev V8
Thus HQ has been a race car for 30 odd years - it's a car with real race patina, battle scars and precious memories, no fakery here, this old girl has seen it all! The log book has more pages than i have ever seen on one car - it also shows the 350 chev as being the engine size.
From my VIN decoding I think it is a factory V8 (253?) Premier. This car was initially built for the HQ series then converted into a sports sedan some time ago with a tasty 350 chev and VT 5 speed etc.
1. HQ "control" Pedders suspension2. Autometer dash, 3. Fuel cell, electric pump 4. Electric power steering5. Holley6. Dual side pipes - sounds very tough 7. Alloy radiator, switchable thermo fan for when sitting on the grid waiting to start a race 8. Proper catch can with working drain9. Race seat & harness10.Lightweight wheels, pumped guards11. CAMS log booked12. Getrag 5 speed & hydraulic clutch
All tags present - I was going to chuck in some seats and belts, club rego and tear up the streets! Remember the HQ had a factory 350 chev option...
The car has patina however I keep it very clean & tidy.
Comes with some servicing spares I have accumulated. Recent everything service in preparation for the race season that COVID killed. New race pads up front. I spent a lot of time flushing everything as I had the time waiting for racing to restart - so over the last few months done several oil flushes, coolant, brakes, steering, clutch, fuel system etc. etc. Took my time and did it right.
Heaps I am forgotten. I was thinking of painting it later this year but the stickers of old events alone are irreplaceable and tell a great story.
No swaps thanks, selling as I need to fund my other form of horsepower - actual horses.
Located in the Dural area of northern Sydney. Advertised elsewhere. Viewing by appt as the car is presently in storage.
Any questions just let me know.
