** ON HOLD FOR JULIE FROM MAREEBA UNTIL WEDNESDAY 23rd DECEMBER 6pm**
PLEASE READ BEFORE MESSAGING US: This Toyota Carolla Seca Limited Edition 5-door Manual hatchback (VIN 6T164AE[hidden information]) is being sold "As Is". That means it will NOT be sold with a roadworthy certificate, which means YOU can't register the car in your name (you have to have a roadworthy certificate in Queensland to sell a car from the owner to another person who wants to drive it). Because we are NOT selling it with a roadworthy certificate, when we actually DO sell it to a mechanic, or spare parts dealer, or car wrecker, it will either be scrapped for its parts OR restored (by a mechanic). If restored by a mechanic and the three things that we know of are fixed (read on), THEN it can get a roadworthy certificate and be registered and sold on as a usable, drivable car. To be clear, to buy this great little car and be able to drive it, with YOU as the registered owner, you will need to fix it up, then get the roadworthy and get it registered in YOUR name. The successful buyer CAN take it for a test drive as it is currently registered until the 1st February 2021, but when it leaves Mum's place with the successful buyer, it will have the number plates removed and the buyer will need to tow it away, or have an "Unregistered Vehicle Permit" to drive it away. There are three things that we know of that are wrong with the car: (1) the air-conditioning no longer works and it will cost approx $1,000 or more to fix it; (2) the front passenger corner light has a broken lens; (3) the rear driver's side corner has another broken lens. I have found a replacement front lens on eBay for $20, but I can't find a replacement for the rear light cover (on the driver's side) and I have looked long and hard. Now, here comes the fun part - I have REALLY wanted to advertise this car because I can genuinely, honestly and sincerely write the following... Once every third blue moon there comes along a fabulous secondhand car that's a real little gem. Think of a little old lady who hasn't driven much. That little old lady is my Mum and she has to sell her car because she is moving into Care. The roads, pedestrians, cyclists and rubbish trucks are no longer safe with her on the road (refer to broken light covers mentioned above). For those of you who are old enough to know who Mister Magoo is .. she drives like him - honest! Mum has owned this car from brand new. My Mum is 85 years of age and if you look at the number of kilometers on the dash (306,584), she hasn't driven much in all that time. The clock hasn't even clicked over for the first time yet. So she has actually only done this many kilometers since she bought the car brand new, back in the dark ages. Because she hasn't driven it much and has maintained all of its services and tyres and seat covers and had the timing belt replaced twice in this time, IT DRIVES LIKE A DREAM. It doesn't leak or drip, not oil or water. The car is in such good nic that her local motor mechanic was interested but can't part with the funds at this time of year (too close to Christmas). He knows it's in very good nic because he's Mum's mechanic! I would buy it for myself and pay the price to have the air-cond fixed, purchase the eBay replacement front light cover and find a non-genuine cover to replace the broken cover on the rear light, but I'd rather not pay for the insurance of two cars, or the two regos. So if you think this is up your alley, be quick. It's a ripper of a little car and Mum WILL CRY whenever the successful buyer picks it up. And all of the above is true, so help me God. Now ... if you are still interested and you are a mechanic, a spare parts dealer or a crash repairer, feel free to contact us. Thanks.
