Up for sale we have this 1995 Seat Cordoba (SpanishVolkswagen), which were prize on the game show the "Price is Right" back in the 90's. This Seat is in very good overall condition for its age but by no means is it a new car. It has always been properly service and maintained mechanically. The exterior is still very clean with no dents or major damage. It does have the odd scratch (always garaged). The interior has no rips or tear and is clean, with a couple of minor stains which would be easily cleaned off with an upholsterycleaner. The car is fitted with a set of Genuine VW 15 inch wheels (were purchased new) with Michelin tyres which have only travelled approximately20,000km. (these alone are worth more than the starting price)
Now for the bad bits. The Seat has an intermittent gearbox issue (Goes into limp mode) which could be as simple as a wiring issue as the fault codes related to all solenoids, which share a common power supply, all the solenoids are not going to fail at the same time so most likely a wiring problem according to an auto gearbox specialist. When the electrical issue doesn't occur the vehicle and transmission drive beautifully (it is definitelynot a mechanical issue). The central locking also has an issue at the moment, the key switch on the drivers door has failed so the central locking doesn't work, but doors and boot will lock with key. Lastly the engine does blow a puff of smoke when starting after it has been sitting, this is either due to worn valve guides or seals (common with this VW engine). This doesn't affect the way the vehicle drives, nor does it blow smoke when driving along.
The Seat will be sold with many spare parts, including a brand new fuel pump worth $300.
The vehicle is only being sold as it is no longer required (was a spare car) otherwise these issue would be attended to and the vehicle would still be used by its mature owners.
The Seat is currently unregistered, registration expired on 12 of November 2020
Viewings of the vehicle are welcome with prior arrangement.
